I have also seen almond milk in the refrigerated section at fresh and easy.
I recently started shopping at fresh and easy with my boyfriend, because it is very close to his house. We love how they have so many great specials!
I noticed that in stores like fresh and easy and also sprouts, they sell almond milk and other types of nondairy milk in both sections, the refrigerated section and the dry goods section (in cartons).
I don't really have a preference as to which type of almond milk I like better. The nice thing about the refrigerated almond milk is it comes in the same type of carton as regular dairy milk, so it “feels” more like milk. That's especially important if you're just getting used to drinking plant milk.
But one thing I do like about the boxes is they are smaller so they fit easier in my fridge (especially important since I live with people who don't believe in drinking plant milk, so we have to fit multiple types of milk in our crowded fridge).
The other good thing about those boxes of almond milk is I can buy multiple boxes at the same time, store them in my cupboard where there is more space, and move them into the fridge one by one as I use up one and need another one. That saves time as I don't have to make so many trips to the grocery store to keep buying more almond milk...I go through it fast!
As far as organic versus regular almond milk, I don't really have a preference. I know organic is better for you, as it is with all products. But to be honest I usually shop with my wallet when it comes to almond milk...Which usually means whatever is on sale, organic or regular. Sprouts often has sales on organic almond milk and other types of organic plant milks.
What do you think? Do you notice a taste difference between organic almond milk and regular almond milk? Is it really important for you to always buy organic milks?
